A Big Day Tomorrow – My First Climate Reality Presentation

August 5, 2014 @ 22:58 By Gavin Webber 15 Comments

1405304905Tomorrow is a big day.

It is my first presentation of the Climate Reality material that I have been practicing the last few days, over and over in my head.  In fact, I probably know the material too well.

I am presenting to the green team at the Melton City Council.  The audience so far is around 4o staff, but that could grow.  The venue is quite nice, so I hope to post some photos tomorrow.

Being a private presentation doesn’t make it any less nerve-racking.  Even though you wouldn’t think it from all the other presentations I have given over the last few years, I am a little nervous about this one.

That is because I know what is at stake.  Our future on the Earth.

I need to deliver this message succinctly and cleanly to attain the greatest impact.  I want them to walk away with a fire in their belly and take steps to begin to tackle climate change in their own special way.

This is my goal for tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

Good luck for today! You might feel a little nervous but you’ll do a great job anyway. Your genuineness will come over and people will hear that and tune into you.

You’ll be great! I’m glad to hear the message gets spread further today. Councils could do so much to help drive change at a local level. Light the fires!

Good luck, Gavin. As I always tell my piano students, your audience wants you to do well, because that way they have a good time 🙂 You’re a natural communicator and I’m sure it will go brilliantly.

Hi Lynda. Unfortunately I am not allowed to record the presentation. Besides, it is much better live.

Sorry mate. I will let you know how it went in the next post.
