Totally Excited About Al

June 24, 2014 @ 20:19 By Gavin Webber 12 Comments

Right now, I am very excited.

Normally, I am a laid back sort of guy.  Just ask anyone that I know and they will say “Hey, Gav is pretty laid back.  I didn’t expect that.”

Tonight I am excited for a very good reason, for tomorrow,  I along with many other hundreds of other keen people, are taking the time out of our busy lives to become Climate Reality Leaders.

Gavin and Al

Not the best photoshop!

I know that it is a long shot, but tomorrow I will finally get to meet the inspiration that started me off on this wild ride towards a more sustainable lifestyle.  That inspiration would be Al Gore.

Well, I am not only attending for Al.  I am certainly not a disciple by a long shot, but it will be fantastic to be taught the leadership skills necessary to get the climate chaos message out there.

Mind you, I think I have been doing a pretty good job so far!  You guys and girls are proof of that just by visiting.

Anyway, trumpet blowing aside, I am really looking forward to the first day of training tomorrow.  I am staying in Melbourne CBD for the next few nights, giving Kim a rest from looking after me.

And as a typical nerd, I have bought a basic podcast set up, so that I can release an episode tomorrow night (dedicated if anything).  It should be an interesting episode, especially if I meet up with some like minded people after the first session!

Well, you can probably tell that I am very excited to say the least, so as a responsible sort of bloke, I better get off to bed and start so I can start fresh for tomorrow.

So, more on the training tomorrow night, my friends.

Gav x

Hope you have a wonderful time – hell, if anyone’s a Leader in climate change reality it’s you. I do hope you get a chance to chew the fat with Al Gore – it must be one of the few times a politician has actually inspired someone. What good luck that someone was you and yes! you’re doing a great job getting the message out there. What’s more, your blog is honest, readable and packed with useful info. Thanks Gavin

PS hope your leg is getting better

Hi CW, the first day was a blast. I learnt so much. The big day is tomorrow, when we get to hear from Al for 8 hours and a reception afterwards. Hopefully a photo op as well!

I know it wont bother you but my first thought was , oh gosh, what to wear to meet Al Gore? Come On, you thought about it didnt you Gav. Show your feminine side. You could go totally outrageous and get noticed – flashing green beacon on your head, but that’s not very ‘eco’ unless its solar powered. LOL. Have Fun…

What I am wearing when I meet the guy hadn’t even crossed my mind. Smart business attire is the frock de jouir. Kim is enjoying her ‘quiet time’.
