Celebrating One Million Page Views

September 4, 2012 @ 11:29 By Gavin Webber 14 Comments

After 1180 posts over four years and seven months, the page view counter on The Greening Of Gavin just clicked over the 1,000,000 page view!

It feels great to have reached such a milestone so to celebrate, and as it is you, the reader that mainly drives me to document all the stuff I do and think about, I am offering the gift of a coupon for my first eBook, “The Greening Of Gavin – My First Year Of Living Sustainably”, to all of you.

This coupon lets you download the eBook from Smashwords only, for free, for the limited time of one day!

The coupon number is UX37Y.  It can be redeemed at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/175585.

Note; The free book offer is now closed.  However, as it was so popular, I have reduced the price down to $2.99, which is a savings of $1.00!

Just make sure you enter the coupon code before proceeding to the checkout, and it will let you download any available format.  All I ask in return is a book review either on the Smashwords page, or your own page if you like.

Now for a little nostalgia.  The top 10 ranking posts of all time are;

  1. Coffee Addiction
  2. Clay Oven First Layer
  3. Why I Choose A Sustainable Lifestyle
  4. Lather Up Folks!
  5. Home Made Camembert
  6. Quince Paste
  7. The Ultimate Clay Oven Video
  8. The Be Prepared Challenge
  9. My eBooks
  10. The Seven Stages Of Change

Some of my favourite series of posts have been;

The Suburban Series and The Great Kilowatt Challenge and a collaborative The Be Prepared Challenge.  All very enjoyable to write, and the feedback via comment was fantastic.

I really enjoyed producing all of the Greening of Gavin Podcasts, especially the interviews with other green bloggers.  I better get back into making a few more, as they are so much fun to make.

However my personal favourite was;

Yet The Band Played On….  mainly because it really struck a chord with me, and had a family connection.

This blog and I have received a fair bit of media attention, which has helped to spread the word about our family’s lifestyle, and has raised community awareness.  Plus I enjoy having a chat with anyone.

We have plenty more adventures to come, so please join me in this small celebration, and on the continuing journey documenting our adventures striving for a more sustainable lifestyle.

Yours in Sustainable Living,

Gavin Webber

    Congratulations Gavin!

    Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

    You’re one of those citizens. I wonder what Mead would have said about the power of the internet in the context of that quote?

    Here’s to the next million!

    Thanks for the ebook. Very simple changes that are manageable and not too scary for beginners. Congratulations on the 1 million views – well deserved and goodness, imagine all those people you have made an impact on. My husband said, imagine if everyone paid a dollar, he’d be a millionaire. I said, imagine if everyone just did one thing to enrich the planet or did something to make life a little greener, we’d all be that much richer, as would our children.
