Massive event this Sunday 21st September. The People’s Climate Mobilisation is being held across the globe to demonstrate that people want action on this most critical global issue.
It is time for governments to stop talking, start listening to their constituents, and start acting on climate change. Hollow words just don’t cut it anymore.
I am a realist. I know that one day will not be enough for our so-called leaders to get their act together, but by gathering in one place and sending this message loud and clear, and by joining hundreds of thousands of concerned global citizens, we might finally be taken seriously.
Will you be part of this historical moment in time? If you do, then sign up and show up at an event near you. Use this link to search for an event near you. Our current government has taken too many backward steps on climate action, and our illustrious leader is not even bothering to attend the UN climate summit in New York. Too scared to face his peers me thinks.
Anyway, lets fill that empty seat with our own voices and show that we are serious about the need for action now.
After all, people power is the only real power left to us. We can’t compete against the finances of vested interests, so we have to show our courage and determination to be heard at events like this.
My son Ben, my daughter Amy and her partner Lawrence and I will be attending the Melbourne Mobilisation event. See you there at the State Library at 11am sharp for a gentle stroll to Treasury Gardens.
It should be a great day!
