Homemade Colby Cheese – Verdict

July 6, 2013 @ 20:06 By Gavin Webber 4 Comments

Well the verdict is in for a Colby style cheese that I made in April 2013.  It is AWESOME!

Click on the banner below to shoot over to Little Green Cheese for the full report.  There was even a cheesegasim involved!  Just ask Jessie from Rabid Little Hippy.

Enjoy.  Tomorrow I will be shooting a cheese making video tutorial for the cheese now that I know it worked.  Should be fun.

Hi Gavin, Most recipes for cheese insist on unhomogenised milk, simply unattainable until I start milking my own cow in November where I am. Do you make your cheese with un homogenised milk or ‘normal’ commercially available homogenised milk? And if unhomogenised, where do you get it?

Hi Louise. I agree, it is difficult to obtain. I have recently been using Jonesy’s Non homogenised milk. It makes a wonderful cheese.

      Hope that helps,

My wife and I have been making cheese for a couple of years now and really dislike the plastic cheese bought in the stores anymore. Home made cheese is just utterly amazing (pun intended…LOL)
