New Blog Updates

October 17, 2013 @ 00:01 By Gavin Webber Leave a Comment

As I like to keep you abreast of new things, I thought I would let everyone know about some changes and improvements I have made around the blog.

Firstly, I have a new mailing list provider.  I switched over from Google Feedburner to MailChimp.  I wasn’t really happy with the formatting of the Feedburner blog to email format, so I switched over at no cost.  If you have signed up to receive blog posts via email, you would have noticed the slight change in format.  I also changed the frequency of the emails down to three times a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7 am Eastern Australian time.  I don’t want to be spamming you mailbox every single day.  Even I admit that there is only so much Gavin one can handle a week! Also, if you wish to get the blog delivered to your inbox, you can sign up via the form on the right side bar.

Now regular readers would have noticed a blog template change that occurred a week or so ago.  With that template change, I added a selection of labels that I regularly tag on blog posts.  They are located right down the bottom of the blog as the list is massive.  If you want to check out all of the posts under a particular subject, then you can click on the label and read them all!

Next, I added Pinterest support for all you Pinterest fans.  You may notice that if you hover over any large photo, a little Pin It button appears in the top left hand corner.  So if you like a picture, then Pinterest it!

I have also added a “Favourite Green Sites” section on the right hand side bar, where I will be adding other green informations sites, that are not specifically blogs, but well worth a visit.  The only link so far is Green It Yourself (GIY), written by Lish Fejer, winner of the Green Lifestyle Award – Online Eco Info Site.  The videos that Lish produces are excellent, funny, and informative.  Well worth a visit.

Finally, a new Cheese Making Kit page tab at the top.  I secured a great deal with a third party to supply two basic cheese making kits.  If anyone is interested, pop over to my Cheese Making Kit page.  There is a lot of cheese making love happening out there!

Anyway, that is all the bloggy news I have for this month.  As always, I will endeavour to improve the site every month, as well as delivering great green projects, events, tips, and news from my suburban food farm.

Until next time….
